Complete Regeneration undertook asbestos removal and demolition works on two cottages in close proximity to Manchester Airport for Galliford Try Infrastucture. Full demolition took place on the sites to enable the main contractor to create new airport car parking.
Prior to works commencing a tubular steel access scaffold was erected to the full perimeter of the buildings to enable operatives to remove the roofing tiles. This was done under the supervision of an ecologist who was undertaking bat surveys on the buildings. Upon approval from the ecologist to commence works, the site team cleared all the asbestos containing materials from the structures under controlled conditions. The buildings were then cleared of all materials including furniture and carpets, the different waste streams were segregated and loaded into skips. Demolition was carried out by a demolition excavator fitted with specialist attachments.
99% of the waste was diverted from landfill.
