Complete Regeneration completed a project on the £22m Anchorsholme Coastal Defence scheme for Balfour Beatty. Works included the demolition of the concrete structure forming the roof of the underground Boat Store leaving the promenade and footpath walls in situ. Demolition machines onsite included a long-reach excavator which broke out the concrete structure. Working alongside the long reach was a 30 tonne excavator fitted with specialist demolition attachments which processed the concrete ready to be crushed to a 6F2 specification to be used as structural fill to backfill the void up to surrounding levels.
A full grid of sacrificed temporary props were installed prior to the demolition to maintain the structural stability of the roof whilst the sea wall was cut through and seperated.
The project achieved zero waste to landfill.
